
The Czech Republic located in Central Europe has a beautiful countryside. Most of it’s borders are natural mountain ranges or rivers, neighbouring with Germany at the north and west, Austria at the south, Slovakia at the east and Poland at the north east.
It has been Europe’s main trading crossroad for centuries, which reflects in the hospitality of it’s people especially in the Moravian regions.
Czech Republic has some wonderful UNESCO sites and very rich cultural heritage. Not many folks know that Moravia produces over 90% of all wine made in Czech Republic, meaning there is a large local community spirit that can only be fully understood once you have been there yourself.
Local foods include famous dumplings, cabbage and pork – very popular dishes. However that certainly does not cover all traditional dishes and you can’t beat the home made hearty soups and recipes of our Grandmas.
On the contrast, as mentioned above, Czech Republic has also got vast mountain ranges not only offering lovely views of the land and neighbouring countries but also winter sport opportunities. Skiing and snowboarding is very popular, as well as coming out of hot sauna and jumping into the deep snow to strengthen the immunity system!
EU has also helped to fund many brand new cycle trails across the country. There really is plenty to do for everyone.
Prague is the capital of Czech Republic, and yes, as soon as somebody mentions the word ‘Czech’ – Prague is one of the first things to come to one’s mind.
