The ancient Kingdom of Moravia is relatively unknown and often upstaged by neighbouring Bohemia and its capital city of Prague. Moravia is at the centre of the Czech Republic’s wine industry and accounts for 94% of all wine produced in the country.

Although Czech Republic is well known for its world class beers brewed since 993 AD, Czech wine has even longer history. It was in 276 AD when the Roman Emperor Probus ordered to set up vineyards in the Roman colonies behind the Alps. The archaeological finds of viticulture knifes in the nearby villages date back to the Great Moravian Empire times.

In this magical one day tour, you will discover the treasures and traditions of the Moravian wine culture, passed on from generation to generation for many centuries. You will visit authentic wine cellars and taste some beautiful locally produced organic wines (you can find out more about the history and types of wine in the Blog section). Full explanation and information about each sample will be provided and translated into English language.

You will also experience the unconditional hospitality of Moravian folks, who have been welcoming tradesmen from all over the world for a very long time here (Moravia lies in the heart of a very important ancient trading crossroads).

One of our English speaking tour guides will pick you up from your hotel/accommodation in the morning after breakfast and drop you off back again in the evening.
